How to Fit and Remove Nail Wraps
Nail wraps have revolutionized the world of nail art, offering a quick and easy way to achieve stunning, salon-quality nails without the hassle of polish and drying time. Whether you're a nail art enthusiast or a newbie, learning how to fit and remove your rainbow nail art wraps is a valuable skill to have.
Fitting Nail Wraps
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary supplies:
- Nail wraps
- Nail file
- Cuticle pusher / hoof stick / teaspoon
- Scissors
- Clear topcoat (optional)
Step 2: Prep Your Nails
Start with clean, dry nails. Push back your cuticles using the cuticle pusher (or other listed tool) and shape your nails with a file if needed. If you wish you can gently buff the surface of your nails to create a smooth base and remove any excess oil. I personally do not do this as I like to maintain the integrity of my nail as much as possible.
Making sure your nail is completely dry is the most important step here.
Step 3: Select the Right Size
Each nail wrap sheet typically includes various sizes to fit different nail shapes. Choose the wrap that best matches the width of your nail. If necessary, you can trim the wraps to fit your nails more precisely.
Step 4: Apply the Nail Wrap
Make sure you have removed the protective film, then peel the nail wrap off its backing.
Align the rounded end of the wrap with your cuticle and gently press it onto your nail. Smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles using your fingertips or a cuticle pusher. Make sure the wrap adheres firmly to the nail's surface.
Step 5: Trim Excess Wrap and file
Once the nail wrap is in place, use scissors to trim the excess material extending beyond your nail's tip. Leaving a little to file off will actually give a better finish than trying to cut it to shape.
Use a nail file in a downward motion to remove the excess.
Step 6: Seal with Topcoat (Optional)
To enhance the longevity of your nail wraps, you can apply a clear topcoat. This will not only provide added protection but also give your nails a glossy finish. Allow the topcoat to dry completely.
